Coble is a sly, ill-disguised racist who deserves expulsion from that security subcommittee.Having him on that empowered panel is literally like making a rapist or someone who talks like a rapist the headmaster of a girls' boarding school!

However, while I wish some serious disease would befall the creep, I refuse to call his panel "white people's security" for one reason. It would be uninentionally blaming innocent whites, in effect making "white Nisei" of them in principle.

When I was younger and society was far more openly and generally bigoted, I too hated whites as a group. But we need to recognize something very important.

While only a fool or a hypocrite would say racism is a thing of the past, our country has made tremendous strides in the last few decades. Just as Germany is no longer the same country that murdered the Jews, and Japan is no longer the same Japan that bombed Pearl Harbor and terrorized the Pacific, so whites as a race no longer deserve to be seen as "Satan" by other races.

Back in 1941, though you got a few decent persons like Eleanor Roosevelt or Pearl Buck, most whites regarded us like dirt. Which is exactly why, though I agree that what Japan did was wrong (in WW2),my attitude is:"So what?" Expecting us of color to care about their cruelty to Europeans is like expecting Jewish people to weep for Germans who suffered during Hitler's time!

Likewise, when I think of the hostage crisis in Iran in 1979, I tend to feel it was divine retribution upon the nation, poetic justice for Japanese-American internment.

The real trouble with Howard Coble has nothing to do with his white skin.Rather, it is his dinosaur brain. He represents the mentality that was commonplace before Martin Luther King, Earl Warren, and later Jimmy Carter changed this country. Earl Warren in his later years admitted bitter remorse about his role in the internment episode.

Retire Coble, not to North Carolina, but to Jurassic Park with the rest of his reptilian kind. And then, move America forward to better times. After Dr. King and the civil rights movement changed it, it deserves to be called "the United States of America." Before Dr, King and Rosa Parks, it should have been called "the Land of the Blue-Eyed Devil."

WRONG GENERATION of white people to condemn. Today's younger whites, by and large, no more deserve blame or insult than the Nisei deserved that injustice.
