I came across this post when I was trying to fix an issue with my Sputnik (btw, my boyfriend fixed it very easily-- the valve had gotten stuck so there was lots of leakage, but he really easily pulled it back out). My boyfriend and I just decided to get the larger spin dryer from The Laundry Alternative, but were a little hesitant after reading the comments on this post. We decided to go ahead anyway, and ordered it on Monday or Tuesday. Well, today (Thursday) the spin dryer arrived. Sounds like the Laundry Alternative has really cleaned up their act (the pun was totally unintended! I swear!)

HELP - sorry if this is pretty random but I desperately need help, does anyone know how to create a table or something that can pull in the content from another page??? i.e, what I'm trying to do is create a new upcoming shows table on Myspace (that I can move around without moving around the music player, as Myspace hvae set them both up with the same code). So have my own upcoming show table but have it pull still in the content from myspace (i.e, from this page: http://collect.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=bandprofile.listAllShows&friendid=429537512&n=pinkiedesigns5)., so still updates automatically (without having to imput the shows as text onto the page). ..I hope that explains it ok, if anyone can help I'd really appreciate it more than I could say.

Just to clarify my post - it was a Sputnik-3.

Well I'm finally posting a follow-up. It didn't take an unreasonable amount of time between order and receipt. As with the etal's post, what I got was a Sputnik. I don't have much counter/or storage space so I stuck it in the tub as some previous posts suggest. The handle never seemed secure - a single small screw into plastic? One would expect at least a screw on either side as this is the main stress point and some metal support. I decided within a couple of spins that it simply wouldn't hold - so I spun it with the tub itself. It's a bit of a work out but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

There is no way that there it was pressurized, as there was slight leakage with each spin. So it is basically sloshing the clothes around manually - which is ultimately what I expected (though not what is advertised) All I had hoped for was a way to hand wash more efficiently and this will suffice. It is nothing more that a semi-watertight canister that you can spin to slosh your laundry around in - no extra properties. But, if purchase expecting nothing more - then it's okay.

I wanted to try the washer which was under $50 - before I tried the spin-dryer. If the spinner underperforms to the extent the Sputnik/Wonderwash does I don't anticipate investing in one. But, that makes the washer far less useful particularly in winter.

Maybe I'm reading it wrong, but it looks like Emerson was talking about consistency over time. I'm talking about consistency in the present, which doesn't seem to leave one with nothing to do, as Emerson said. Much the opposite. To use a metaphor, let's say I have a jigsaw puzzle and every day a new piece arrives. Consistency over time would suggest I reject the new pieces so my puzzle stays the same. Then I'd have nothing to do. What I'm talking about is rearranging the existing pieces until the new pieces fit, which turns into a lot of work. The important thing for me is that the pieces, the ideas, approach a coherent whole. I've found where they don't is where I should reexamine my ideas.

A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds. Believe that's Emerson. Also believe Goedel had something worthwhile to say on the subject.

All forms of thought and belief, to be useful, are also plastic. Don't sweat consistency, sweat contingency. Think about it. BTW, your little anti-spam test doesn't know that 2+one = three. ;-)

I was going to say that the word(s) you're looking for is "Cognitive Dissonance", but that is an uncomfortable feeling when you believe in two contradictory ideas. But then I found "Doublethink". Check them out:

If Adbrite is a scam and Google is high price, does any one here has had any profitable experience with any low price advertising online agency?

I have searched several agencies but when I place the "scam" suffix all appear to be scams!

Obfuscation is not about hiding your email from spammers, its about making it 'non-standard'. Any pattern or encoding that you use that is different from the 10s of thousands of other ways people are 'hiding' their email address, you making it harder for a spammer to single out your patter for recognition.

Of course, if you don't put your email address on the net at all, then, it'll never get found. I always use a contact form that posts to a php script that contains my email address where noone can get at it.

I am betting it dates back to when we were living in caves. We exit the cave, the sun hits us, we sneeze and expell all the nasty dust and dirt we had in our nasal passages. I am betting all animals that burrow do the same. 25% of us just haven't fully evolved yet.

I decided to bite the bullet. Reading some of the experiences gave me some pause (a years I think:-) But, I emailed LA with some of the concerns and got an immediate and frank response. I am looking forward to trying it out. I hope it will be fit the bill. I ordered today, and hope to actually post a follow-up that others promised but didn't. I'm hoping no news is good news. Ticked-off people are generally more motivated than satisfied:-) Has anyone tried the spin-dryer?

I have a few sites that require quality traffic and will try anything to generate good traffic but Adbrite is just... well... the worst thing I have ever tried... o yeah and no sales at all from them.

Hello Scott, I really like this game!. Thanks for inventing it :). I'm from the Netherlands so I speak Dutch and when I play Fastr I always choose the English version. Besides of the fun of the game I also get a good English lesson for free. Several times I did guessed right, but just spelt the word wrong. Have a nice day.

My grandpa introduced these to me as a child but I'm the only one in the family who eats them now. I just had one for lunch, wheat bread, creamy pb, and clausen dill pickle halves sliced. I have never heard of anyone else who liked them so I googled it and am happy to see that others really do enjoy this yummy sandwich. Anytime someone tells me it's gross I tell them they need to try it first, but I have never had any takers. And as a female I always get the "Are you pregnant?" question the first time someone hears about me eating one.
