Brian, scan you PC with Spybot search & destroy. Adbrite doesn't make any such adwares or malwares. However those who use its services might have made one which has infected you. Just like you casually concluded that adbrite was responsible for what happened to your browser, even i can casually say that Russians are behind the adware in your computer, but i won't do that, as it would mean that i'm commiting same mistake as you are. So, don't form opinions so easily without investigations...

Classification of fantasy and reality is itself a fantasy that humans created.
Life... It begins when you first make a distinction between yourself and others.
From that moment on, the world becomes a stage for the story in which you are the main character.
All people live in a fantasy in which they are the main character.
But the world doesn't recognize you as the main character at all.

I think you'll find that the difference between:

1) A government policy of extermination, involving the whole military-industrial complex of a nation, with ideologocal backing from the main political party and intellectual support promoting the idea of racial superiority and
2) An overwhelmed administration, asked to do something they couldn't resulting in incompetance, desease and eventually death, is perhaps, on reflection, not a 'nit'.

In the former, that is Nazi Germany, concentration camps were part of a policy of concious racial extermination - defined as 'genocide'. It involved railway technicians designing carridges so that people could be efficiently gassed inside. It involved companies like I G Farben and Bosch testing and producing the gas that could kill in the shortest possible time, it invoved local authorities at all levels being complicit in rounding up the victims, having heard Himmler's speeches on the 'Final Solution. The gas ovens had to be designed and build. And 6 million people died. I've visited Sudeten homes where items from jewish victims was brazenly displayed. Distribution companies were set up to dispose of the thousands of shoes, clothes and spectacles from the victims. Hitler took possession of a lamp shade made from human Jewish skin.

In the latter, there was a war in South Africa - not over gold, but over a series of conflicts between two very different philosophies. I'm not going to argue which side were morally best. But in 1868, a conflict appeared because the British interviened following an appeal from Moshesh the leader of African refugees, who sought British protection against the Boers. The Boars were prepared to invite conflict with the British by marking up railway seating to separate themelves from blacks. The Boars objected to the British policiy of racial integration and the one-man one vote constitution they introduced in the 19th centuary.

It took the Germans 40 years to deal with the wrong they had done: for years, in the 60s and 70s it was common to hear Germans use the phrase 'it's in the past, we should forget it and move on' - a policy of not talking about it was in force until braver liberal German polititions began to deal with this horror in the late 70s and 80s. So if you're going to make historical comment you might want to look at what was being said in the British newspapers of the time: the free access to facts as they emerged, the discussions and different points of view and the changes of government policy that resulted. Look at the hand-wringing of British Fawcett Comission that was then sent to investigate these Boar camps. This was a British Government commission which far from white-washing the British, insisted that rations should be increased, that additional nurses be sent out immediately and a host of reforms. In fact, most of what we now know about these camps comes from the very British who were genuinely working to improve conditions.

It is estimated that perhaps 20,000 Boars died 'avoidable' deaths in the British camps through an incompentance that was corrrected as soon as the facts became known. A figure and reason the Boars themselves accepted. As a previous poster recognised, British deaths, even though they were outside the camps, were also greater than combat deaths.

In Germany, approximately 6 million people died and were exterminated through a deliberate policy to wipe out a racial/religious group, a genocide which continued in many cases even though the allies (including the British at Belson) were mere hours away from liberating the camps.

After the Boer war, far from hating the British: families of those same Boers sent their sons to fight with the encouragement of the Boar Prime Minister alongside the British, under British commanders in WW2 against Nazi Germany. They laid down their lives alongside the British at Tobruk, at Gazala, at El Alemein and in Normandy and their desendants remember their British association at that time with pride.

Scott - the internet is not peer reviewed - books are. The difference between British and Nazi camps 'nit' picking? I'm sorry, no.

There is simply no comparison.

Nice site.

Regards,
Dave

Sorry, I forgot to mention that my Wonder Clean came with clear instructions for water temp/amounts, detergent ratios, and how long to turn the handle for different amounts and types of loads, etc. The Wonderwash came without instructions. As I can see from the blogs, that seems par for the course.

I also had nothing but trouble with Laundry Alternatives. Lehman's is a reputable company that has been around for decades. I've ordered from them twice. Delivery was quick, and all was as it should be. I have no complaints.

As a side note, I decided to try this machine after our washing machine made us sick. I know it sounds absurd, but it's true! The whole family was sick for months on end, and no one could figure out why. Then our new washer (which we bought a month or two before the onset of our illness) began to stink, as did our laundry. I'll spare you the gory details, but it turned out to be MOLD! Our washers get infested with mold, which is then distributed on our laundry when it's washed. Then we walk around wearing mold infested clothing, and sleep between mold infested sheets! No wonder we were so sick! We were suffering all the same symptoms as people whose houses are growing mold in the walls and carpets, etc. And it was all from our brand new, High-Efficiency, water-conserving, eco-friendly(er), front-loading, washing machine! Apparently this is a common problem with newer front-loaders. Just do a search of "moldy washers" or "stinky washers" and you'll see what I mean. Although I've also read about top-loaders having tha same problem, so maybe it's even more universal. It's a good thing we have blogs, or I'd never have guessed the root cause, and we'd be getting sicker every day.

Yes, this device may require a bit more hands-on attention than we are used to, but there may be more reasons to give this machine a go than just the obvious ones like no more laundromat, and less environmental impact, etc. It may actually be beneficial for your health. We all got better once we started using the Wonder Clean and got rid of the washer. I'll never go back.

FYI, the WONDERWASH sold by LAUNDRY ALTERNATIVES is made in China. My plug/drain leaked, and the handle snapped off. The WONDER CLEAN sold by Lehman's is made in the USA. 'nuff said. It has no plug/drain. Just remove the clothing and dump out the water. One less element to fail.

My Wonder Clean works at least as well, if not better than my way overpriced front loading washing machine. I can do a week's worth of laundry for my family of 4 in half an hour. No elecricity, no noise, no vibration shaking the house all day. I love it. I have yet to buy a wringer from Lehman's (I keep dropping hints, but apparently no one believes I really do want a wringer for Christmas, my Birthday, Mother's Day.....) so hand wringing is still an issue, but it still beats my beast of a machine.

Do it right the first time and get the WONDER CLEAN. The WONDERWASH is just another example of made-in-China rubbish.

Kino no Tabi is a really great series
both the light novels and the anime have things you can learn from^^
It's a wonderful philosophical anime that is a rare treat to see. I reccomend reading the original (Japanese) novels and watching the series and it's 2 movies.hahaha but that might be for "crazy" anime fans like me
I'm glad you took the time to pick up the book^^ More power to readers!

I used a hand cranked washer similar to the Wonderwash (it appeared to be the same unit though I don't know) for about two years while cruising on a sailboat. Given the limitation of power and fresh water the unit appealed to me. It worked pretty well and IMO was a significantly better alternative to hand washing in time and effort. I washed the clothes in the unit by spinning it at 60 cycles per minute for about 5 minutes, drained the soapy water, and then used it to rinse with fresh water (generally took two cycles of rinsing to get all the soap out). Then hand wrung and dried on the lifelines.

They could make the unit stronger. I had to reinforce mine (particularly at the handle connection) to make it strong enough for regular use.

The unit washed clothing well enough to remove normal dirt and they came out clean and fresh smelling. It does not remove stains as well as an agitator in an electric washing machine, but for normal day to day use it did the trick for me.

My brother in law had a different opinion and did his in a bucket with a T-broom/mop stick. Though I noted that after a while he gave upon on that and would take his clothes to commercial launderes or a laundromat, which can be an expensive proposition while travelling and not always available or an attractive alternative IMO.

With these conditions, I'd recommend it as an alternative to hand washing. I plan to get another one on my next cruise.

Bravo! This is why my vegetarianism also involves the potential to occasionally consume local, organic, humanely-produced meat, even though that's a contradiction. It's still natural for humans to eat meat, but not in the way most Americans do. I've been vegetarian for a couple years now, and had meat twice--and both times it's been from local small organic farmers, and I'm very happy about that.

It doesn't seem to me like a customer who reports that the product they received seems flimsy and bends a little while cranking needs to do "more investigating." I haven't purchased this product yet because I've been trying to find out what the difference was between a Wonder Clean and a Wonder Wash, but what I do know now is that I won't be getting either from LaundryAlt. I don't mind if some people haven't gotten the quickest service from Laundry Alternative, but this many different people reporting that they don't return calls or emails or that service has actually been rude is enough to scare me away.

Does the Wonder Clean not have a drain? What about the handle? LA says the Wash has been reinforced with metal- is the same true for the Wonder Clean? What about the base on the Wonder Clean? I can't seem to find more than one angle picture on the Wonder Clean, whereas there are several for the Wash. I really need a product like this because hand-washing in the bathtub is just not cutting it! Thanks!

Our customer service wasn't perfect in the past, but it wasn't nearly as bad as some of the posts would have you believe or we would have gone out of business a long time ago. It's human nature to be much louder about things we aren't satisfied with. We hired a fulltime customer service rep in January and the customer service level has gone from below to above average. People are welcome to agree or disagree but we do want to point out a few facts:
1. The spin dryers are well made pieces of equipment, any claims to the contrary are simply false. The same is true of the Spin-
X by the way, they don't "break down quickly" either. Poster #34 is not well informed.

2. The Wonderwash is not perfect in every way but we have made a number of improvements including changing to a more expensive and sturdier material. We are not content to just ship cheap products that break. People should do more investigating before making these kind of uninformed comments. We actually spend a lot MORE time and money on product improvements than most companies.
3. The Wonderwash is the same as the Wonderclean or other products. Again this is false, ours is much better and prospective customers are welcome to ask us specifically why.

#55 was a fine customer, even though he posted a negative comment about us. He seems to think there was a need to pay for replacement parts, that somehow by paying he would get "new" or "better" parts. The truth is all the parts are the same, you don't get a higher quality part if you pay. However we were not able to convince him of this. We also didn't think it would be fair for him to pay as it was under warranty.
